Field Officer – Upper West Region

Biography

Sumani Diaka Sunkosu is a Field Officer at GetCare Foundation, supporting agricultural and rural development programmes across Ghana’s Upper West Region. He works with farmers, community groups, and local stakeholders to coordinate field activities, mobilise and register farmers, collect programme data, and facilitate community engagement. His work strengthens the Foundation’s field presence and helps translate programme strategies into practical interventions.

Before joining GetCare, Diaka supported farmer education initiatives focused on safe shea nut collection, compost preparation, and improved agricultural practices, particularly among rural women. He brings hands-on experience in community sensitisation, farmer training, and locally led agricultural development.

Diaka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with Economics and maintains relationships with farmer groups, Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and community networks across the Upper West Region. His contributions support effective programme delivery, stronger smallholder livelihoods, and more resilient agrifood systems.
