ABOUT THIS SECTION

Our strategic direction

Our mission

To advance resilient agrifood systems, environmental health and community prosperity through practical programmes, applied research, functioning markets and institutional collaboration.

Our vision

Thriving communities with productive local economies, healthier ecosystems and the agency and resources to sustain positive change.

Promoting Agrifood Systems

We strengthen farm productivity, producer organisation, food systems, aggregation, market access and viable agricultural enterprises. Our FAHAP programme ↗ connects these objectives through farmer-centred services and stronger market relationships.

Improving Environmental Health

We work toward landscapes where ecological recovery supports lasting livelihoods. Our RECLAIM programme ↗ brings together restoration, responsible land use, agroforestry and community participation.

Building Community Resilience

We support local capabilities, institutions, participation and opportunities for women and young people, recognising that resilient livelihoods depend on both economic and social foundations.

Our systems approach

The Rural Economic Transition System (RETS) ↗ links stronger community institutions, stabilised production, market participation, enterprise creation and regenerative development. Monitoring and research help us adjust this approach to different places and populations.

Our strategic ambition

Our longer-term objectives include reaching 100,000–150,000 farmers and improving access to nutritious food for more than one million people by 2030. These are strategic targets guiding investment and programme design. Explore Programme Outcomes ↗ for the distinction between reported achievements and future targets.
