ABOUT THIS SECTION

Evidence for better decisions

Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) are integrated into the way we design and manage programmes. Our approach connects practical field data with questions about effectiveness, inclusion, sustainability and value for participating communities.

What we measure

Measures are selected for each intervention and may include farmer participation, productive practices, crop output, market engagement, livelihoods, institutional capacity and ecological conditions. We also track delivery quality, service access and progress against programme commitments.

From activities to outcomes

Our measurement distinguishes activities delivered, outputs produced, outcomes experienced and longer-term targets. We connect reported results to relevant periods, locations and information sources, and use appropriate evaluation designs to assess change.

Research and evaluation

We work with technical and research partners to strengthen study methods, baseline assessments, field monitoring, analysis and interpretation. The design reflects the research question, available evidence and ethical requirements.

Responsible information management

We apply consent and data-protection considerations in collecting and managing programme information. Sensitive participant records are protected separately from public-facing evidence and publications.

Learning for better decisions

Findings inform programme adjustments, partnerships, operational priorities and future investment cases. Visit Programme Outcomes ↗ and the Research & Knowledge Gateway ↗ to explore results and supporting knowledge resources.
