PROGRAMME & EVIDENCE

Overview

GetCare Foundation documented an FAHAP activity involving the provision of practical agricultural equipment and protective items to participating farmers in five communities in Ghana’s Bono Region.

What the initiative addressed

Farm households can face avoidable constraints when essential protective equipment or basic tools are unavailable. Such constraints affect timeliness, labour requirements and safety, even when producers have adequate farming knowledge.

What was reported

GetCare’s field story recorded initial observations concerning improved handling of farm tasks and increased confidence among participants. These were descriptive field observations, not independently verified causal impact estimates.

Learning implications

The case highlights the importance of fitting assistance to the specific barrier farmers face and assessing whether practical support can unlock further improvements in production and market participation.
